DescriptionFriday night is goth night. Its £3.50 to get in and there is a cloakroom to keep your stuff in which costs £1 per coat hanger. Quite a small place, music varies, mostly NU-Metal :( Dress code = anything you want really, unfortunately the bouncers dont really care who goes in so the place is sometimes filled with morons, oh well maybe the number of actual goths there will increase soon and it will live up to the name 'goth night'.
Opening Hours10 - 2pm

Um... Loves on Friday night plays music like Muse, Feeder, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park... and is often populated by townies and drunken lads... not much of a Goth night at all. It advertises as 'Alternative night' but isn't really that alternative, though you might get the occasional 80s or punk song if you're lucky... Still, worth including it on here, since it's the closest to a Goth night you'll find in Chester, and I believe the club does a fetish night once every month.

Had a bit of a scare when i thought my (1 and only) favourite bouncer, Albert (im sure his real name is Richard) was leaving, but it turned out he was on holiday (?) Anyway, it's actually £1 per item in the cloakroom. The music is gradually getting better, it went through a trendie phase for a while, but that seems to be disappearing. If u decide to come along one friday, i know i dont have a photograph yet, in my profile, but if u spot someone with long black/brown hair, normally black cords and a skimpy top, then just say 'abducted mackeral?' The place, to me, has a friendly atmosphere and a great place to meet new people.

Sometimes, this place is great! on a good week you'll get pretty ok music and plenty of cool people. Sometimes you get loads of naff drum and bass, and a bunch of drunk idiots standing around. Worth checking out, and it's so easy to meet people in there, if you're new to chester, come and check it out, make yourself some new friends.

I recently heard from someone that Loves is due to close in February. Can anyone else confirm this? Is this for good or just for a refurb?

Well, just to fill you all in on Friday nights. The did re-locate to The Northgate Arena but only about 12 people turned up so it only lasted one week. Friday nights are no more and people are tending towards The Tivoli instead.

Wow! Looking through this guide to Goth haunts in Cheshire is really taking me back! Used to love drinking in the Shrop, going to Raphs (Love St) Alchemy, The Tiv in Buckley. Doesn't anyone use Netgoth any more? There must be new pub/club nights/venues etc... As nice as the walk down memory lane was! ;)
