|Shop name||East West|
|Street Address/Directions||64 Haydon Place, Guildford,
It is a difficult place to find if you've never been before, its more out of the town centre on one of the side streets. Id phone up and ask for directions, its easy once you know how.
|Description||This is a typical New age shop, incense, crystals, harmonic/meditation music, books on druids, celts, witchcraft, crystals, runes and all sorts. They also have a big selection of t-shirts on various bands, dragons, wolves etc. Velvet jackets, trousers, loads of beautiful candles, a cabinet full of gothic jewellery, dog collars and loads of spikey things! It's a very weird and wacky shop, not huge but the only shop I felt at home in when I lived here!|
|Opening Hours||9-5:30 Mon-Sat|
|Phone Number||(01483) 564252|
|Comment:||They also sell lovely bags there.
The best directions I can give to get there is to go up North Street (which is adjacent to the cobbled High Street) until you get to Pizza Hut, then turn left down Haydon Place and follow it round for 2 mins or so. It's a few doors down from where the now sadly departed Heaven Sent Records was.|
|Comment:||Nice little shop very quiet and sells some lovely candles. Also sells some pretty cheap full finger rings also spiky belts/necklaces. Well worth a visit if your in the area.|
|Comment:||its really small in there & the staff always watch you which makes me feel kinda uncomfortable, plus it smells really strongly of incense & stuff. but they do have some gothy stuff like spikey collars & big rings, like the person before said it's worth a visit if you're in the area because to be honest there isn't much to do in guildford & it's one of the most 'alternative' shops there.|
|Comment:||East West got taken over in February 2004 and the shop has had a makeover from new owners Paul and Gary. It is the only proper Head Shop in Guildford and they do still stock various gothic items, especially jewelry. Find the occastional t-shirts as well, plus ornaments and all kinds of goth accessories.|
|Comment:||I went into East West yesterday and the new manager is Jim and he's very helpful. There are new tops on sale with some gothic bands on and less of the old skool 'hippy stuff'. Lots more gothic jewellery, too. It's got much better.|
