| Great shop for little things: presents, etc. Also, Gary the owner always knows what's happening with the local vampire society. |

| If a shop doesn't display a switch logo, you can't really be pissed off if they don't take it. Especially little shops like that. Market stalls don't take switch either... |

| The new shop is bigger, and looks like it's got more clothes in it, but maybe they're just spread out more. Not as atmospheric but give him a few years to build up a good supply of cobwebs... lol.

| I was very disappointed with the clothing in Bats as it was very basic ethnic orientated Goth fayre, with afew T-shirts - there was certainly nothing in there which I would want to wear. They, unfortunately, also had a dreaded Murderdolls poster in the changing rooms - very offputting! Other than that, the shop had lots of interesting knick knacks. |

| Known this place for a while and it is a real little tresure. Christmas and birthday presents are usually found here alongside a wide range of clothes. Plus the other big bonus is when ever you go there you are always made to feel welcome. |

| Personally i'm glad they don't take cards yet, it's so easy to over spend in there- I love virtually everything they have!! There will always be something in there that's eyecatching, so you should just go prepared with cash or failing that, the Halifax is only a short walk away.
"Daughter of Darkness"I think the murderdolls poster is in there to relate to the massive trend for black and red stripes, that's a pretty petulant excuse not to shop there.
For great customer service, there just is no comparison. If you suggested something more particular to Gary, I'm sure he'd be only too happy to try to order it in for you. |

| They call themselves a goth shop yet they have muderdolls on? jesus thats kids stuff, the clothes aren't brill, too much jordash ethnic crap, there isnt that much stock really, and even if i considered buying something the fact they dont accept cards would really annoy me so def a no no unless your some mosher kid who likes nu-metal, to dress up and pretends to be goth. |

| I know the people who run this place and they are the nicest Goths I know. With a wide range of clothes, new and second hand, jewellery, make-up etc, this place must be visited. There is also a large collection of goth photos from movies. Its got my vote... |

| The lack of card acceptance isn't that big an issue as there is a cash machine in the newsagents on the first floor (out of bats down the stairs to the main road, turn right). This place is 100% goth merch (not a hippy shop that happens to sell some Omen clothing, like most entries). By the way I'm 31 and love the Murderdolls :) |

| Despite the somewhat petty comments by other people as to the nature of the music played in Bats and their changing room decor I LOVE IT!!!!!And i'm not some little mosher either!!!Seriously though Bats is a good enough place to go for all your needs-although i'd not try for a loaf of bread! It's a nice change from many of the other hippie/moshery shops in Afflecks and, as has been commented on before, the owner is very friendly.

| Oh bugger i pressed something and my comment submitted before i'd finished it-whoops!!!
I also wanted to say what a nice change it is to go into a goth shop and not be looked at by the owner/staff like something they'd just stepped in, this has happened to me in a few shops and i find it immensely offputting that fellow goths behave in such a snobbish manner-if i wanted to be sneered at i'd go and shop in Topshop!:( |

| Hi I went in Bats back in the days when it was the Coliseum, and still support it in Afflecks. I've always found lots of unusual clothes to wear from there and the prices are quite reasonable compared to some other goth/alt shops.
I have always been made to feel welcome by the owners,as have my boyfriend and mum when they have been in there with me.
I'd recommend this shop to anyone interested in the goth scene and if theres anything I want, I always try and get it from Bats before anyone else as its like buying from friends. |
