Agreed that The Napier is a wicked pub. The DJs are very nice and will always take requests. An excellent place to go to listen to metal and get you in the right frame of mind for good ol' C'est La Vie.

Did I write this? Must have been a bit ago, the general feeling of salutation’s quickly drains from this establishment and you quickly begin to notice the accusing stares of the local old-age, mid 80s metal heads. Your requests are taken as stated, although not without a healthy dose of cynicism for anything that has been produced post-80s. Still a good place to visit but when there I prefer to fester in my own corner and far, far away from the locals.

The locals are a friendly bunch but a some people feel intimedated when they first come in. Don't... This is the oldest and now the only rock pub in Blackburn and has a lot of regulars that have been going in for years. Those who feel intimedated are often very young and new to the scene and aren't used to the *older* atmosphere. Check out the website at http://zip.to/thenapier

By far the best pub in Blackburn. Plays the best music. Very little nu-metal. Many would argue that you have to go upstairs to enjoy the night but I find both floors very good in their own way. Downstairs has a pool table and a jukebox with a very good selection, not so much in the way of Gothic music but classic stuff like Metallica, Guns n Roses, Eric Clapton and Dire Straits. Upstairs I find the DJ will play pretty much anything you ask for, I haven't had a problem ever. There's also table football which is free, so anything free can't be bad. The place generally has an older crowd than the mini-moshers on the vie's scene. So overall well worth checking out.

A good place and all, but yeah, it does seem that the younger ones are somewhat looked down upon by the older customers, despite the amount of time they have been around sometimes. The music is, however, pretty good, and the alcohol, so not too bad at all.

After the very sad passing of the owner, we all were worried the brewery would turn the place into a wine bar. The Napier is almost back the way it was and its a great place to chill and have a laugh during the week and an even better place to meet up at the weekend... oh yeah... no kids get in either... more thumbs up!
