fiddler & firkin
lintont he dj used 2 B in the blue anchor & the ship, & the music is always varied.
The Dolphin
After the kings shut down all the goths, metallers, bikers came here. It is the only 'alternative like' pub in Camberley!Everyone I know gathers here before the Agincourt on a Sat. I go a lot, the staff are friendly, the jukebox is good and you won't feel intimadated in here. It has become the general meeting place for the goths, metallers I know.
The Ship
The Ship, a metaller pub for as long as living memory allows : ) Tuesday nights is big Yankee Peter, a Thorsman who loves his Gothabilly and Darkwave. Ask him nicely and he'll prolly play yer stuff ; ) Thursday nights is Big Gay Zigs night of kiche. You'll have prolly seen ziggy at slimes as he practically lives there (south african block who supports celtic and has a blue mihican). He is the slimer who trained myself (amongst many others) and is therefore entirely to blame ; ) Zig loves his old stuff as well as good beer drinking music and doesn't mind requests : ) Saturday night is traditional rock so can be a cool warmer upper for going on to the Cartoon (another rock night) that was quite cool last time I went (not too packed but good music none-the-less) or on to Slimes : ) Wierdoes have always drunk in this pub, and prolly always will : )
Scruffy Murphys
Tolerably alternative pub, noisy, happy. Wierdo-friendly. Avoid like the plague on weekends as it's packed to the rafters.
White Lion
Not goth pub, but weirdo friendly and used as a meeting place by myself and a few other of the Redhill gothy/alternative types.
The Grey Horse
pub that does gigs etc
Pews Wine Bar
A very small pub with a very friendly atmosphere. The staff are very relaxed (i.d. rarely a problem). Every fortnight they have The Melting Pot, with local djs and very good music. Quite a young crowd, despite the 21+ rule (!), and very lively. How amny times can a girl say "very"?
The Peel
Live music venue and pub. If you ignore all the numetal stuff its a pretty cool place to go and see live bands/alternative DJs. But if you live in Kingston youll already know that :D
The Sovereigns
A good pub with some alternative type regulars and just out of town enough for the pikeys to stay away but no distance at all to get to
The Fighting Cocks
General alternative Pub with occasional Punk,Goth,Ska,industrial nights. Live bands often apear on a Saturday night...
The Black Sheep Bar
An alternative music venue!! Bar/Club!!!! After 10pm there is a door charge of £2 though. Thursday's seem to be the best nights though....."...Heavy beats and rockin' peeps. They play a moody but manic combination ranging from the likes of System of a Down, Limp Bizkit, Pantera and Disturbed to Nine In Nails, Aerosmith and Marilyn Manson..." (as quoted form the website) They also have live band nights as well, so keep a check on whos playing :)
The Crown
THis is quite a small place. The jukebox is cheezy, the people tend to be quite nice though. people normally meet up here before going to the agincourt on a saturday, there arent many goths but its friendly
william cobbett
dark and dingy the william cobbett welcomes you in, with nice bar staff, half decent duke box and wobbly (warsteiner) on tap!!! what more can you ask for really. they also serve absinth, which is a nice little added bonus!
The Harp Rock Bar
A pub 100% dedicated to the rock, metal and goth scene! One of the few pubs in Britain that have a metal jukebox [I've been told there's only about 4 pubs with one in the UK]. Also, they have a lot of live music, with a stage and sound setup for any bands which play. The staff are very friendly and funny and the atmosphere is really chilled out and most certainly alternative. The punters usually consist of goths, metallers and hell's angels, so if you like metal and you're in the area, this is definitely a place to go.
