Description, by jen
Marc Heal & Phil Barry created Cubanate, whose instigation tactics have roused audiences, fellow musicians & the press since 1994. Roundly described as frenzied industrial techno, this music ain't for the faint of heart/lung/etc - devotees of metal/industrial be cautioned though, the dance influence here may not suit. |

One of the best Industrial bands to ever emerge in the UK, Cubanates music is full on dance orientated electro terrorism laced with raw guitars and a distorted vocal assault. The band was essentially comprised of frontman Marc Heal and fellow musician Phil Barry, but Barry has since departed leaving Heal to continue this now solo venture. Heal, in between Cubanate albums, also forms part of C-Tec (Cyber-Tec Project) along with 242 man Jean-Luc De Meyer, and is also responsible for the Ashtrayhead side project.

This album does exactly as it shows on the cover....... messes with your head!!!! It's such a good album, with the unmistakable sound of thumping, wrenching noise of cubanate. It has a really wide variety of styles from the slower songs like angel dust to the more well known sounds of Body burn. It also contains the added bonus of having some remix tracks on there. Well worth purchasing

Probably one of the best all-round Cubanate albums. Although it doesn't have the mind-numbing agressiveness of Interference or some of the classic tracks that are on Cyberia, it does have a lot going for it:- From the rhythmical drum driven stomp of Joy through to the slower, darker Vortech tracks. Overall I would say this is about their best album.

Ear-wrenchingly gut-twistingly stripped-down angry noisy industrial. Suits the dancefloor, stomping down Camden High Street on tourist days, or at home with the volume turned way up. There's lots of breakbeat and techno influences here, along with angry distorted guitars and unmistakably uk vocals which must really hurt the throat... although there's a couple of chilled out tracks so things don't get monotonous. Quite nicely original. Has hardly left my minidisc since I got it. (apart from sunday afternoons when something like velvet acid christ or vnv nation is much more appropriate)
