Description, by jen

Pagan, vampire-friendly rock band from Cheltenham formed in 1989 by vocalist Candia Ridley & musician/composer Tony McKormack (formerly of The Screaming Dead). They've made a few media appearances & gigged extensively, becoming one of the most prominent bands on the UK scene.

Nice, folky, goffy, witchy fare - can be a tad repetitive but the lush vocals and swirling sounds keep you listening. Great live too.

An excellent introduction to Inkubus Sukkubus, as it has all the early recordings on it. Songs that stand out are "beltaine", and "pagan born". Some of the songs are slightly repetitive, but it's still an great album and is worth a listen if your into gothic rock with a pagan twist.

One of those albums that really does die for you after a few listens, even if you don't mind its full on paganism. Inercourse with the Vampyre and Take My Hunger stuck out as the best tracks for me, but still not great. But Song For Our Age!-dire! I would think maybe some Pagans would be insulted by this a but, it's maybe a tad too cheesy.

Supernature

hmm, having gone to extreme diffculty to aquire this album i can say that i am pleased on most accounts. The album itself continues the line of the bands major influences i.e. vampyres and tributes to the earth and so on. However there are few tracks that really stand out in my mind when thinking of this album, the ones that do are Lucifer Rising, take the kiss, and supernature....and a rather unpredicted cover of gypsies tramps and thieves :). Not an outstanding, wow, album but definately one worth a listen to for fans.

Vampyre Erotica

I bought this album after hearing "vampyre erotica" and not being able to get it out of my head. Unfortunatly it is the only track on the album that really stands out. There is a great cover of "paint it black", "heart of lilith" is also a good track, as is "all along the crooked way". The rest of the album is good, but not in the same class as the title track.

great voice and stuff, I was really into this band until I bought their third album and realized it sounded exactly like the first ones and this still hasn't changed with their fourth or fifth (?) album, the songs sadly sound all the same, just with different lyrics...it's a sad story...
