Description, by The Baroness
Austrian's Hannes Medwenitsch & Thomas Rainer formed L'Āme Immortelle in 1996, soon after they brought in Sonja Kraushofer to add a "human touch" to their electronic style. They went from strength to strength & in late '97 'Life Will Never Be The Same Again' became a huge club hit in Germany.
Their 3rd album 'Wenn der letzte Schatten fällt' was released to much critical acclaim & was coupled with a remix disc featuring mixes by members of Noisex, Das Ich & Inertia, which cemented thier position in the electro-goth scene.
Unfortunately Hannes has had to leave the group due to ill health, however they will continue on as a duo. |

"bitterkeit" was the big L'ame Immortelle hit in Germany from their early years, and it still features in top 10s in Zillo magazine!
They have recently recruited a 3rd member to replace Hannes.

Not at all bad, for a remix project. I'd recommend getting the originals first - this isn't the best introduction to L'ame Immortelle - but this is definitely worth a look. The high point, for me, is the low-key, but atmospheric, Assemblage 23 contribution... the collaboration has produced a great track that's not somthing you'd normally hear from either band.
