| Description | mercury have started a hosting a metal/alternative night on fridays which is a refreshing change for barnsley! the dj plays a wide range of music, from the latest nu-metal types, to older bands like tool & white zombie, to the more indie orientated stuff. they also often have local bands playing live. they have decent drinks offers, with two-for-ones on selected bottles. its a pretty small place, and the dancefloor is less spacious than most peoples living rooms, but it all adds to the friendly atmosphere! ;) |

| anyway, they got rid of the metal night on fridays just after xmas, and started hosting them on mondays a few months ago. of course, they'll be ending that next week, and then they're possibly reinstating fridays because their attempt to take on H&H was less than spectacular. dont hold your breath though... |

| ...and now it's gone for good! Just for the record, they *did* re-instate fridays, but then shut the place down after boxing day. Now it's been knocked into Butterfields to create Walkabout, the infamously claustrophobia-inducing australian theme bar. Enjoy! |
