The only problem currently being that the promoters "Prefer to sway away from Rock, Metal and Gothic music" (in their own words) as they prefer NME-approved indie. Doh, doh and doh Love from me xxx (Rated)

Barfly has managed to pull its socks up and get some good metal bands in lately and showcase a lot of up and coming rock talent from the area...Shame the club nights are still steeped in indie only

Some good gigs lately. Queen Adreena. Martin Grech. Mew. Little Hell (although their act and material are a little old now). Saw !Horse as a support act there.

Small, yet good sound and fair drink prices. Not very goth-sided, mostly emo rock and local bands play.

This is my favourite UK venue. They put on some excellent gigs, featuring the cream of today's underground talent. Spookykids tend to stay away, due to the general musical direction of the venue (nu-goth is a big NO!) but "all ages" nights are often held, especially when local bands are playing. Definitely a recommended night out.

Very cosy - nice intimate feeling. Prices are reasonable but it's usually more a laid back night than anything.
