There is a yearly mnembership available too btw. 3 floors as the blurb on the limelight gig guide explains. many pool tables to be played on, a few arcade machines (see if u can beat my top Harley Davidson machine score, which I think has stood for nearly 2 years to date, it would give me a reason to play it again) Automated bowling alley upstairs in Rafters, Once u get membership it basically acts as a pub, the only extra charge being if u want to see one of the bands in the downstairs room, even then there are quite a few free gig's happening these days. But I have to say that the best thing about the place is the fact it has no windows, a perfectly cool place even on the hottest summers day, just remember to put ur sunglasses on before before u venture outside, the amount of times, I've been blinded. oh and there is a new gig guide website, www.crewe-limelight.co.uk .

If you've never been before and go to see a band, don't forget - there's the 2112 Club just across the road (owned by the same people), which'll normally still be open after the bands have finshed.

Not owned by same folks for a few years now, but was originally set up by them, then taken over and kept on in sort of the same vibe, except a lot less alternative than it was.

This place also has a 'Music Cafe' attached now, making it even bigger and providing an additional 'disco' area. Check the website for the place too - they nearly always have some kind of promotion or offer going on.

As the bands get bigger the atmosphere slowly ebbs away. The new conservatory and 'music cafe' is far too shiny. And when did they introduce loyalty points??? It's starting to get a bit too much like a supermarket. But still throws up many decent concerts luckily.

Don't know who spishukai is but woefully mis-informed, the Limelight is and has been owned by the same people from the start. I know this cos' I worked there up until recently and had done for nearly 5 years - as barman, lighting tech, doorman and finaly Club Manager. The sad news is however that it has just gone up for sale :( Anyone got a spare £mil?

Spishulkai is someone who was a member that joined on the opening day. And went for many years until things changed. I also worked there in one capacity or another. It has changed, and has more Tribute acts then in the early days, the staff (not on the whole) aren't cut from the same cloth as they used to be. Door policy is something of a joke. But everything changes, sadly this time it's not for the better. Never mind, I used to live there.
