DescriptionWell, since for some bizarre and inexplicable reason people have added the two nights on which I _don't_ play any goth-related stuff, ie Scathe and Subversion, I thought I might as well add the one which does. Not much - a bit of cyber at the start - but that's more than I play at the Villa or EQ. Apart from that, it's my "indie" night, which translates as an odd mix of indie, punk, metal and cheese.

(why people have added Scathe and Subversion and not Connection escapes me...)
Opening Hours9.30pm-2am

Some weeks though, it's like walking into resurgence...but with more kids...;) Goth-types do go there, but usually just to hang out, drink and take the piss out of everyone.

Very laid-back, turn up early for the non-mainstream music, it all goes a bit 90's later on :)

Ah, Scandals............the Cellar!!!! Many a Thursday night id wobble out at 2am, get home at 3am and have to drag my thoroughly hungover corpse of a body into work the next day at 7!!! I havent been recently but scandals used to get a lil older clientelle, than Subversion (heard thats changed now though), although plenty of Subversion attendees used to go, and it was invariably a good night (which as mentioned earlier was well payed for the next day). Infact occasionally Thursday's scandals was better than Friday's Sub!!! The venue is unusual in that its so.....well small. Its gonna sound weird, but i'd liken it's interior spacing to a bar/club on a pirate ship (you gotta go to appreciate it). Pete does his perennial best as DJ in this intermate venue, and the admitedly small dance floor is always buzzing. If you've got a free thursday night, with no work the next day, then give it a go! Hell if your up to it (and i suggest you adjust work accordingly), why not Do: Thu: Connection Fri: Subversion Sat: Dark Trix (soton) Sun: Resurgence Just be prepared to spend £300, and have a 7 day hangover.

In my humble opinion has fallen greatly from its lofty position, and is no longer the enjoyable experience it once was. A steady flow of 'Ben Sherman' entire is never a good sign and at times feels like its filled with drunk townies who see the venue as a more attractive closer option (and within stumbling distance).

Connection is still going and is the only remnant of my 98-01 goth era still functioning. Resurgence, Subversion, Jimmyz, Air Balloon, Horsehoe, Contented Pig are all gone. Quite how this has survived is beyond me, but i hope it does (purely for nostalgia sake). Last time i went it was filled it drunk townies(something that never occured 98-01). There's still an alternative vibe, but its there by a thread!
