Oh dear. This was going to be good. It could have been the Slimelight of the north. But then the local goths managed to get the Goth night cancelled by being exclusionist (On a Friday night no less) and one guy even threw a tantrum and tossed himself under a car. So now the stunning Hell themed decor is reserved for a lounge night, an indie night and regular charty stuff with the 'Vamp 2000' night relegated to history. Hope you're all proud. By the way, the above facts come straight from the management. It's not rumour.

The management saw fit to run the club in opposition to a long running night at Underworld and when their marketing failed to pull in the crowds they let anyone in..which resulted in a really nasty and tense atmosphere there being loads of very aggressive townies present. It was only a matter of time before the Goths fed up with the abuse voted with their feet. The management need to look to their own palpable failures before letting it out that the Goths were exclusionist.

One thing about the management of Satan's Hollow is that they are very accessible and friendly. The other thing is that there are three of them, and they do not always share opinions. The reason for moving the Goth night from Friday to Wednesday in the first place was down to a need to get more people in and drinking (since we local Goths are fairly moderate in our drinking habits compared to your average scally). Bear in mind that Rockworld supports three seperate rooms on a Friday, each one catering to a different musical taste, whereas Satan's attempted to make an entire club pay on Goth alone, on a Friday night. Frankly, I'm inclined to say cheers for even trying. At last count, they're still planning to open the new Goth night on Tuesdays. ... and the above information comes straight from the management. Paul specifically.

Not sure if Im just easily impressed after recently moving up here from Grimsby but I thought the tuesday punk v's metal nite was rather groovy. Ok so tis far from goth but twas still fun, cheap to get in and the free bar from 10-11 influenced my opinion greatly!

Been this place in the past - cool decor and stuff, but the music was kinda crappy (in my humble opinion). However, have seen posters for the place around, advertising a new alternative/metal/goth/rock/punk night on fridays. Have not been able to get there to check it out yet, but sounds promising.

The friday night here is called Roadkill, and it's described by the promoters as 'music for the Grand Theft Auto generation' - they play all that 'sk8 punk', emo, indie and general nu-metal type stuff, it's a little like Rock Kitchen I suppose, but with free candyfloss?! Not really goth at all, despite the nice scenery. What may be more interesting is their tuesday night, 'Spiked', which is supposed to be punk/metal themed (I say supposed as I have a feeling it maybe that dreaded 'sk8 punk' again).

The free bar from 10-11 is a real bonus, the music isn't really to my taste but by then you don't care because you are already drunk! Is quite a good looking place for a rock club too!

It's free to get in on saturday's at the moment - and you get given a free shot of vodka (mixer is extra). Otherwise, their prices are similar to everywhere else now (£2.50ish pint/bottle). Music is VERY random - they played Black Sabbath, The Clash, Michael Jackson, Prodigy, Madness whilst I was in there, as well as a bunch of generic indie stuff I don't know the name of. Worth going just to see what it's like since it's free, the atmosphere was pretty good - no scallies now that it's not a free bar all night.

Again amazing decor but we lasted 1 drink on a Friday before seeking elsewhere... not EMO / punk fans... amazing venue though, thats why Mortiis is coming this year I guess (no doubt it'll pop up in gigs too)

The decor was fun but the place was full of emos and the music wasn't to our taste. There was one metal song played in the time that we were there, the rest was emo/indie/ska-punk, and the people I was with were not impressed. I'd enjoy it more if it was a proper rock/metal club.
