I have seen a few live bands here and the atmosphere is great - i love smaller venues so i may be a bit prejudiced. There is pretty much always a place to see the stage from both the dancefloor and the bit above it. barstaff are incredibly friendly as are the doormen! Drinks are usual londonish prices.

Best live alternative venue in London - cosy and friendly with great sound and staff. Nice little annexes to hide / snog in too! ;o) Top marx!

I wasnt that impressed when we went to see Opeth here as I was confused by the placement of pillars. However,I do have to say that it is a great stage to appear on! I cant wait to play here again. Great venue and wonderful staff.

I was impressed by the venue when i went there recently to see The Cruxshadows. Its really imtimtate and you get a good view of the band, jsut dont stand in front of a pillar. Really reasonable prices for drinks too..

The only gripe I have with this place is that they are mega keen to chuck everyone out as soon as the bands have finished which does rather put a downer on the end of a good night out!

I'll second the last comment.when i saw Faith and the Muse here the band were all up for seing the fans, but security would let NO ONE back stage as the management wanted to close up. Apart from that its a great, atmospheric venue, and you get a good view of the bnds as it's so small.

Nice rock/metal club - well laid out, more expensive drinks than what i am used to in Oxford (but oh well). I saw caesura (that welsh band with a good guitarist) and TiC (who were quite good at the TMF festival).

I went to see ministry and being at the front was marvellous until my coffin bag split. I was left trying to find my partner at the front and couldn't get through. No camera so I thought I would queue to get a t-shirt seen as we had travelled from sheffield to see my favrioute band and while queuing for a t-shirt the bouncers were trying to push us both out. While waiting we got asked three times to leave and almost shouted at! We were not the only ones. Others waiting had the same trouble. My drunken partner wasn't happy about the staff's "get out now" policy either! PS. I finally DID get my t-shirt.
