Really cool night, just don't try wearing spiked collars, claw rings or anything else vaguely spikey and metallic as the bouncers will confiscate them at the door. All in all a fab night. I highly recommend it. Grooovey

Don't forget that due to the redevelopment planned for Camden Tube station, this club will be knocked down in a couple of years..

Lots and lots of fun! (drinks aren't too expensive, either, given my past experiences of london :)

I normally like this place, but since the farce of breaking down 3 times on the way there only for two of us to be turned away after 1 had already been admitted ticked me off somewhat... I had to hang around Camden until the third person came out again looking for us... Why let only parts of groups in, espesh if (like us) they travelled in excess of 70 miles to get there? Nevermind, still a great club. =)

Whilst the Slimelight might offer more variety, Full Tilt is a straightforward and fun Friday night bash through the industrial, dance x-over, EBM, new wave and gothic greats, blended in with various amounts of techno music (depending what week you're there on). Enjoy it while you can, and hope they find a new venue. Get in early if you wanna hear old-skool stuff, though.

I like Full Tilt because it makes me feel at one with other people in London, a rare experience. It is friendly, and since I moved from London, I have missed it greatly.... however, I do think that the drinks are over priced..... but who cares?! Always good to see the older goth generation there tooo.... winklepickers etc... bring on the bangles

to those who dont know, membership is free! you just get a form from the front desk, fill it in and post it. for the price of a stamp you get a years membership na dthat means £2 off entry price. but be warned it still isnt a garuantee for entry. if your a little on the short side or baby-faced (like me!)take ID cos they've been clamping down lately. Sadly the dress code seems to have been abandoned of late, with the bouncers leeting any old trendy in *sigh* nevermind, we still have elbows...

OK, as regards the redevelopment at Camden Town...(dons London Underground hat) Nothing will happen to the Ballroom for quite a few years yet. Firstly, the proposed plans have to go up for public scrutiny. Ken Livingstone, our esteemed mayor, has already scuppered that at the first hurdle by chucking the plans out and demanding that L.U.L. resubmit their ideas. That'll take about a year. It then has to go up for public consultation; that's another year. They then have to apply for planning permission. Being an employee of L.U.L. (i.e. station assistant at Euston, if you really want to know), I've had access to the company info. Nothing will happen to the Ballroom before 2008 at the earliest. So, relax, chill out, and enjoy Full Tilt - it'll be there for the next 7 years to come.

Went for the first time about a month ago. had a Fantastic time. Main room stuck mostly to goth industrial/techno/darkwave stuff which the DJ mixed v.well. being from up north, our goth nights tend to have to please everyone (because we are so few), so the djs play a bit of everything and can't mix. Here where they could stick to the same kinds of stuff and put a good mix together made a v.nice change.

I have to agree chromenewt, it sucks that people who r obviously a group can b turned away whilst others in the group get in...just lucky my friends would all refuse to go in if someone was turned down...i'd never let one of my friends walk off whilst i got in..but on the whole a very coool club :)

Erm . . . I'm actually a bit disappointed with it. I went there in October 2000 (when I mainly stayed upstairs on the metal floor, being more of a metally person then) and January 2001, when I stayed downstairs and thought it was excellent. Lots of NIN. :) But when I went in November 2001, it seemed to have gone off. The price had gone up from £5 to £7. At first the music was good, but after midnight, it got trancier and trancier. I'd say I'm quite familiar with popular goth music (after several nights at Slimes and a Eurorock), but the only song I recognised was the Robert Miles-esque remix of U2's "New Year's Day". There were loads of trendies there - I was one of five people wearing make-up - and I took a look upstairs, where some super-tame AOR was playing, as opposed to the latest best cuts of nu metal I'd heard a year earlier. I could have just been there on a bad night, but I don't think I'll go back (since I live in Canterbury and it's a bit of a trek anyway). Also, be warned, it's an alternative meat market. If you're female and you sit down on your own, some bloke's pawing your PVC in a trice.

I went to full tilt last weekend for the first time in about two years, and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. I remembered it being much better before... The djs' mixing work was great, but there wasn't a lot of variation in the music. I like industrial techno, but I'd expected some goth tracks as well... the only ones they played were about 3 or 4 songs towards the end of the night, and it just sounded like the dj accidently put on a wrong cd, it wasn't integrated in the set at all. The atmosphere in the club reminded me a bit of an industrial youth club - everybody seemed so young. That was quite funny... All in all I had a good time, the PA at the club is amazing, but I definitely prefer slimelight over full tilt...

went to full tilt a few weeks ago and although i always enjoy it, the dj did seam to play more techno than usual, which is a shame, you really have to ask for the goth stuff to be played now. it can be a great form of exersise, the ballroom, as i usually find myself running up and down stairs between floors to see which music i want to dance to!

i went for the first time last week & had a really good time, it's a really cool place to meet new people - everyone's really social & friendly. the security inside can be kinda tight unfortunately as i got kicked out last time towards the end of the night but i had lots of fun anyway & the music is great..there was some goth played when i went aswell as ebm etc.. & goth remixes so i guess it depends on the night that you go?

How is this down as a goth club. Where is the goth music? Rex the DJ does not now what Goth is. The Music is mostly Techno/Metal/Industrial/Ibiza. I used to love the place but now Wish they would knock it down as it only destroys good memories when I do go there.

Electric Ballroom is a sure hit for a big night out. The dancefloor is simply huge, and quickly fills up. It might do with some more seats as the seats it does have quickly feels up. There's an upstairs room as well which, when Full Tilt is on, plays Metal whilst the downstairs floor plays Goth/Industral. Do be sure to bring ID though if your travelling a long way, becuase there can't be much more annoyinbg than being turned away after travelling a long distance. It's probably better for those whom like to mix with lots of people they don't know though rather than a familar crowd.

I love this place. I'm there every week (Providing I can afford it) and it never gets old... Love the music... Love the Regulars... Drinks are a bit pricey but after a while you just don't care! I Tend to get a bit carried away when I'm there and forget to sit down :) & Really suffer the next day! Oh well I don't care! I'll make the most of it while its still there!

Good night out, The Metal room could leave a lot to be desired, and it seems on most nights to be more packed than the dance floor downstairs. Downstairs is very spacious and play a good mix of tunes, also the atmosphere Ive noticed is very friendly on the most part. Good place to go.

First time I went to the Ballroom they played Black No.1.. So far so good. Like that one loads - what's next, I ask? I was disappointed. All that followed was bleeps. Lots of bleeps. If you are a member of the glowstick brigade, cool. If not, probably best to give it a miss. You aren't going to hear much G*th music in here.

Downstairs has all gone a bit cyber, although you can still find some trad mixed in there. Even better, you can get drunk and wander upstairs to peek at cute nu metal bratz!

Ive been visiting the Ballroom for the last 2 years. At first it was great fun, Lots of intresting people, good music and a largerboy free enviroment. The mix of Goth/Cyber/Rock/Techno was its strength, Seeing uber types next to nu-metalers next to pilling ravers made laugh and led to some fun conversations. Now however Rexes refusal to change his set except to put in moore metal when there is an existing metal floor has led to the mixture of music being waterd down, and so have the viriaty of people. The visual spectical of the moor out there clubbers has gone and i now consider the night quite bland and nu-metaly. But hey wats my opinion worth ime sure its great for those that like it and thats what matters and one day rex might change his set.....

Nice place if you don't mind industrial (or metal/thrash upstairs), but if you're looking for old school goth i'd give it a miss, complete lack of it whenever i've been. Fun night out if the music is to your taste

Convenient place (right near the tube) and lots of fun. Don't bring any drinks - they confiscated a little bottle of water I had. Only £7 or £5 members/with a flyer (there are loads of people giving them out outside.) Good music: downstairs industrial upstairs more Metal-ish. Didn't check out 3rd level though - apparently it's "chillout."

Have been going on off for about 4 years, used to go regularly, just getting back into it. Must say it has changed a bit and doesnt get anywhere as busy as it used to. usually a top night tho, a bit overpriced.

i,ve been a regular here for a while now and if your into ebm, darkwave and general electro you,ll love it,the dj provides a text no for your requests saving you from having to move from the dance floor/bar,one small problem and its not full tilts fault=new metal children-they have a metal room upstairs which can over spill and cause trouble at the bar meaning its takes longer to serve, but on the plus point there are 3 bars through out the to floors, expect prices beers

it says goth/industrial on the flyer, but The times Ive been there they play about 4 goth songs in the night. Far too overpriced and the bouncers are extremely impolite. Its not as good as it used to be.

May not have another chance -whatever you think of it, Full Tilt is changing hands for more of a 'metal' music policy as of mid-March, so it won't be Full Tilt as we know it. And rather like it myself.

Fear not, ye mortals and all that! The original Full Tilt crew do have a new night (Synthetic Culture) starting on May 14th at EGG, York Way. Spiffy venue, plus an 80s/electro room, plus no limitations on spikeyness of jewellery or collars at this venue!
