Went to first night last week. Most fun I have had in ages. Good music and good people. Stange pub that looked like a set from Eastenders but held in a private room upstairs. About 70 Goth's cleaned the pub out of most forms of alcohol. Nice. Will be at the next event whatever the cost or lacation. 9.5/10 (lost 0.5 due to no JD left at end of night, forced to drink Bacardi Breezer).

I don't get to go too often anymore as I have moved to Leeds, but everytime I have been the people have been friendly, the music varied (they played every song that I asked for!), and the alcohol is set at a reasonable price.Even my friend that doesn't like goth had a wicked time when we went(which can only be a good thing!!)

Dark-Cide just keeps getting better. The last one (23/02/02) was probably one of the busiest yet. Jason & Kristen are both great DJs (sorry about Static-X Jason), and we all had a lorra lorra fun.

By far the best night out to be had in the area. Music and atmosphere are excellent. If you're in the area be sure to be there, if you're not in the area, do something about it.

Oh no! Nobody's praised Dark-Cide in over a month! Elizabeth, you may not have been there but I'm still holding you responsible for this oversight. Great music, great atmosphere, great people. Be there next night; 27th April.

sorry to have to say it, but i'm not fond of darkcide at all. at the start of the night, the genres seem to fly by; you wont be able to stay up dancing for long if you dont like /all/ genres of music. later on the music changes to rocky stuff that always seems to be full of irrelevant-to-goth tracks. tracks always played: a hardcore motherfucker/twisted 'mix', s.o.m - temple of love some overplayed vnv nation track the crowd is big and varied though, but thats only a small plus to sum it up, i don't see how the dj's can not realise that they're not playing anything good, therefor insulting the crowd's intelligence. i've heard people come to darkcide from manchester; why?!

Doors open at 8.30pm, and the next dates are Saturday 29th March, 26th April, 24th May, 28th June, 26th July, 20th Sept, 25th Oct, 29th Nov . HUGE Thanks to everyone who's supported the night!

I see we're a week early this month (Sept 20th). Hope the lights are working this time. They should open that door between the dancefloor and the bar area too, so I can hear the music from the corner, and it won't take me ages to get past everyone when I wanna dance.

Dark-Cide is moving to Blowing Wild, Grimshaw Street, Preston. Starting from November's date it will be here (as was Octobers due to the double booking fiasco).

Blowing Wild is a much beter venue than Stettles. So anyone who didn't like D-C at Strettles should give it another go! Good news about the 2am licence too! I reckon you should get some decorations up though (white netting with your UV lights?) to give the night a bit more personality.

Dark-Cide is the best thing really to have happend in preston. The music is brilliant catering for all sub cultures, there has never been any trouble (touch wood), and the atmosphere is humorous and relaxed. The Blowing wild, it has moved to is bigger, better, and the bar is opened longer. (yes this is the same place that the goth fettish night Consent is held.) Ok so the entry fee has gone up to £3.50, but it is worth every penny in my oppinion, and it will never loose it novelty due to it being held once every month.

I'm sorry to say but, as me and my gf have been Dark-Cide regulars for a while now(2ish yrs) it seems a shame that a lot of people are so ignorant and arrogant. what does it cost to say "hello" or be polite? Apparently alot more than some people are willing to give! I

Thanks for posting the updates Elizabeth Jane - yes, Dark-Cide has moved again!! Basicaly, the 12 Bar club had to merge with it's sister club The Mill, and they have regular weekly club nights which meant they weren't able to accomodate us monthly. But tbh our new venue is just as good, with a smart sound system and open until 2.30pm, AND spookily enough it's in the place we first started - Strettles (now called BITTERsuite). There's a new managenment who are great (hence the new club name), and we've got a load of fun things planned for 2006. Miss 616 x

I went to the Gary Numan after-show party with my boyfriend. It was my first time to a goth night outside Leeds and we had a really good time. It was a funny little venue and I liked that they had a side quiet room but I didn't like that they didn't give you free water like other clubs do. That was the only downer really, along with the drunks at the door arguing with the doorstaff insisting they were told they could get in free with Gary Numan tickets. :S

darkcide's this year are: Sat 12th September: Dark-Cide @ 53 Degrees, Preston [in the 400 capacity Club Room] from 11pm - 3am £4 (18+ only R.O.A.R.) with a free warm up event at The Ship (just across the road from 53 Degrees and about 70 yards down) from 8pm-11pm Featuring Lancaster's 19NINETYNINE live and 'The Batcave Hour' from 8pm-9pm Sat 10th October (the same, but with VIOLET VORTEX playing live) Then Sunday 29th November: From Austria, Dark-Cide and Electro-Cide are very proud to present Imperial Austrian Industrialists NACHTMAHR playing live at 53 Degrees With support from UBERBYTE (Sheffield) and KOMMAND+KONTROL (London) and DJ sets N.B. These are the only dates this year due to the very high costs of 53 Degrees (but the venue is outstanding and well worth it!!) and the high demand the club is from very high profile mainstream events. If the events are a success there are dates pencilled in for 2010 so please come along and support the Dark-Cide if you can as to be residents there and be able to put on more concerts in the future would be fantastic for everyone.
