DescriptionAh Cest la vie probably the only late night club in Blackburn for the Anti-Trendy groups. Make sure you go straight down stairs as the top two floors contain freaks that like nothing more than listening to music that sounds like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Excellent club. Personally I prefer it on a Satruday rather than a Friday. It tends to be busier on Fridays. Drinks are half price before 11 so it's definately a good idea to get yourself down earily. They have been rather strict on ID over the last few weeks though so watch out.

C'est La Vie, interesting the first 5 times. After that being drunk or at least tipsy becomes almost a necessity to survive the monotony. But, all my chums go down there and I love seeing them and after a while you kind of know everyone there. At some point the DJ will spoil it all by playing some trendy trance crap, but he usually manages to redeem himself. Not much on the play list for those who are into underground or death/thrash type stuff, but it'll do.

Just recently its opened up on monday nights between 8 and 12, and although it still dosn't manage to achieve the truely great nights that were available a few years ago it has cheap drinks for the duration of the night and no bouncers

I suppose it one of the necessary evils. It is indeed one of the only places in blackburn of the 'club' variety that plays what can be phrased as 'alternative' music and can be a relief to those in need of screaming in places like Bentleys' with the pop/house club music, but can get a little boring after a while it has to be said. Drinks are ok and reasonable if you actually do like alcopops and things of that variety (unlucky on that account), but doesn't really play much if any music of the gothic variety or even industrial. becomes quite sad when its a slow night and people end up making trips to the toilet to pass time. ...Best to remember, Vies...or Utopia? Not a toughy really, though Cellar Bar is more my cup of tea most nights.

I've started going back down here again, it's certainly become swamped with the younger generation, the music is still good and I enjoy just standing around, that's who I am. Just go, there's nowhere else!
