This Saturday was the first time I'd been but it was well worth the £2 entrance fee, if only for the looks on the faces of the regulars downstairs :-) Great music for those of us of the more traditional persuasion. This night would benefit from more publicity and a venue with a late licence.

A good night out for those who enjoy a quiet(er) night. would have been better if the place had a late licence, or at least been allowed to carry on until the advertised midnight not 11:30. But haveing said that, the evening was fun and no doubt with a little more advertising and co-operation from the venue it will continue to be a sucess.

A truly rare breed in the UK, Blackveil is one of the tiny handful of goth clubs to cater for those who are bored to tears of never ending shelf-stacking tracks. Occasional (and lately more regular) live music from the UK and Europe makes it even better, the only thing it lacks is bodies through the door...

An excellent night - the regular DJs (De'Ath and Andy C) play a good mix of music including a lot of stuff you don't hear every day (and they are request-friendly too). The venue is rather oddly shaped, being a big L, but it works well. Ample room for dancing too. Could definitely do with a late licence though...but try it anyway, you won't be disappointed.

VIEW FROM A LONDON GOTH Wow! Prepare to be socialised! A candle lit, dark wood, upstairs pub interior with two DJ's playing definitive Goth from across Europe, UK and the US, plays host to an established and still growing crowd of unpretentious but stylish individuals who clearly enjoy and support the venue as much on as off the dance floor. Yes, it could benefit from a late licence, and the application is underway, but the organisers know how to bring out the venues' best in the time they have, and by closing I had a list of names, future Dark Veil events, and best wishes to and from all involved with the club. From small acorns...already a young oak...

BlackXmasVeil party is on 29th Dec. and we have a late license til midnight ! We also will be having a cd luckydip and members of BlackVeil group have been submitting requests so there should be something to please everyone. Our dates are fixed for next year (see WHEN on www.gogpromotions.co.uk)... sometimes they clash with the newly re-scheduled Wendyhouse and sometimes they don't, one of the benefits of not having a rigid programme! BlackVeil dates are selected to avoid clashing with other local events where possible and to accomodate our own commitments.

Last Saturday saw our first BlackVeil of six that is on the same Saturday as a Wendyhouse. Pleased to report that plenty of people, regulars and first-time visitors, supported us, some of them leaving a little earlier than usual to go on to WH. We also had promotional stuff from The Stranger .....(www.thestranger.co.uk) sampler cds and t-shirts, which we distributed in a free lucky draw. And De-Ath should be safely back from DJing at Gothcon in New Orleans with new stuff to play at the next one.

Great club. Small venue but plenty of room for dancing and socialising. Could do with a late licence, but otherwise a fab place to be :)

Lol I don't remember Tiaratart attending this event ;< I would advise going if you really are into GOTHIC music and you want to hear tomorrows Goth Hits today as this is the place.Has a great gothic ambiance sadly missing in some clubs.

we can only get the occasional late license on account of our venue being the wrong side of the river, and road! and classed as being 'residential' due to all the waterside developements. As to peoples' opinions of what resembles a "lively night out"....we don't recall the lady in question attending BV and we would recommend people don't come unless they actually like gothic music.

Uber goth night out - lovely atmosphere, and a real feel of what it was like 'back in the day' for those of us who still recall. I hope to get there much more often!!

Black Veil on 28th May will be a Wave Gothik Treffen special featuring lots of great bands from last weekend's WGT. If that wasn't enough it will also be a release party for IKON's brilliant "Destroying The World To Save It" and you will have a chance to win 2 copies of the Ltd double CD version in the BV raffle. We will also be doing a release party for Mystigma's "Universal Surrender" and again there will be 2 copies up for grabs. Black Veil will be taking a two month break from the Adelphi whilst it undergoes major renovations in June & July so both 25th June and Sat 23rd July have been cancelled. However we will be back in August on 20th @ The Adelphi. Shortly we will be announcing details of a couple of other events which will be taking place whilst the Adelphi is closed and beyond.

Unfortunately due to circumstances entirely beyond our control Black Veil will not be continuing @ the Adelphi when it re-opens after refurbishment. Not only have the owners and management decided not to honour our booked dates to the end of the year but also we have been advised that they plan to run and use the function room regularly themselves from now on, which seems to preclude any future nights or events of a similar nature being held there. However this is not the end of BlackVeil as it will continue on an ad hoc basis until a new permanent and suitable location is found. There will be a Black Veil special on 23rd July @ the Vine featuring two highly acclaimed bands, both of which will be making their long overdue debuts in Leeds, Leisur:Hive + Colt (formerly known as Living With Eating Disorders). There will also be the Medieval special with Geyers @ The Vine on 15th August. We have our group outing to the premier night of Northern Ballet's "Dracula" in September, and there will be a special BlackVeil event in October - details to be announced later. Gog Promotions can confirm that "Under The Veil II" will be @ The Vine in November and "Beyond the Veil IV" will again take place in Leeds @ Easter weekend 2006. Gog Promotions will also continue to organise band events. We would ask you try and support us as much as possible during this period of change and with your support we are sure a new permanent home can be found for Black Veil. Yours Roger , Trish DJ De'Ath & DJ Andy C The Gogpromotions Team

As a result of all the recent changes and current uncertainty about dates and venues for forthcoming Black Veil nights and events it is even more difficult than usual to keep the GOG Promotions website up to date. We therefore now have this supplementary site for publishing important news and info relating to Black Veil nights and events http://blackveil.alwayscrashing.org/ trish

Black Veil – future dates and venues For the rest of this year, and all of next, Black Veil nights will be running once a month, at the Pack Horse, on Woodhouse Lane, Leeds. As most of you know, this is opposite the top end of the University. http://www.studentguru.co.uk/musicguru/venue-reviews/PackhorseBE The Pack Horse is a great traditional pub, with a good range of beers, a well-stocked bar and a friendly atmosphere. Monthly dates are either the 3rd or 4th Saturday according to venue availability (and when we are away at festivals !) with the exception of January. Although we continue to be restricted to working within existing licensing hours for music, we would like you to know that you can, if you wish, continue to drink downstairs in the pub when Black Veil finishes until midnight. Black Veil @ Pack Horse 8 – 11pm 2007 Jan Friday 26 Feb.
