It has a website, which tells you about opening hours, events, drinks promotions and stuff at http://www.legendsnightclub.net/wheel/index.htm

my home! i grew up here virtually, and still visit it frequently. not very good, but it's all we have in sunny Carlisle. better than any other club in the city for us alternative types, and it is very very friendly. you can go in knowing nobody and come out knowing the entire crowd! everyone is very trusting and trustworthy, and there is only ever any hassle when the evil trendies come in to cause it. but we don't mind, do we? cos we all know and like the bouncers!

Now all we need to do is get the DJ to realise that the volume can also go down as well! Seriously though, I think I've been spoiled by clubbing in Newcastle and I really can't be roused out of my slothfulness to go here anymore - last few times we went, we left early out fo sheer boredom...

all hail the wheel...hmmm...well yeah i went here for the first time just recently because i always seemed to avoid it ...but now i can see myself going back..the paint scheme i agree could do with a bit of spice because its a little bit boooring...but very cool atmosphere and agreed that the people and the bouncers are wicked...the only this is they need to GT THE STOOLS FIXED!!!! i nearly broke my neck nth number of times trying to sit on the horrible possed things!

the wheel has suddenly taken a turn for the worst in my opinion, after changing managment they have decided to focus mainly on punk/ska. the half decent music that they once rarely played has now decended to none existent!....oh well the drinks are cheap and the people are friendly and its better than any other club in carlisle.

There is an evil rumour (which I haven't been able to confirm or deny yet... I'll work on it) that the Wheel will be closing permanently in the very near future, to become part of neighbouring Club XS (trendie club) for ever! NNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! So we'll all have to go to the Brickyard, formerly known as The Richmond Hall. They've started up a rock night there on fridays apparently, but I've not yet been.

Student Nights are good, £1 for a double Vodka and Coke! imagine getting a round of drinks for your friends that costs under a £10! Nice! Musics good too! The music the dj(tank) puts on can be quite humourous (weird al yankovic etc).

the times ive been there its an alright club, but it needs a major overhaul, it could do with having a bit of a spice up instead of it being a 'seats round the outside bar next to dancefloor' kinda place..and the seats should have padding instead of just being wood! i like it there when i havent been for ages..and being right nxt to club xs getting out on your own makes for a pretty rough ride sometimes!

As regards the vicious rumour about The Wheel getting XS'd, the good news is that whilst a refit is imminent, I heard from a reliable source (within the staff) that it is going to be in the vain of a futuristic-dark-black'n'chrome-cyberesque-industrial-stylee. The other supposedly good news is that they're keeping the current music policy. Which recently has probably only been mildly better than XS anyway. Oh well, progress of sorts I suppose...

the rumor isnt true about the wheel permanelty closing, it will close to get refurbished in the future as its a little crapppy at the moment.

student nights have changed, double vodka's are now about £1.40 but still rather cheaper than your average vodka and coke!

Still one of the best alt clubs ive been to ever! Ive heard the likes of Goteki, Projekt and Killing Miranda in there a few times! Very cheap all nights of the week, probably the cheapest club in Carlisle and cheaper than some pubs. A friendly crowd, friendly doorman. basically a good night out!

Good grief, since when? I stopped going ages ago because I don't like pop music. The idea of actually getting something form my collection played... Good gods!

The Wheels is getting totally refurbished very soon! Hope they dont raise the drinks prices! The music seems to be getting better, they are taking on a new DJ. They trialed a guy last week who played lots of death metal/black metal.

no-one seems to know when or even if it will re-open as a rock club would be a crying shame if it didn't as this has to be one of the funnest rock clubs I have ever been to and they played quite a good selection of goth, industrial and EBM
