Upstairs (the K2) on a Saturday plays punk rock to rap, (Eminem and the likes) whereas downstairs caters for the harder stuff. Still not much goth, don't even think about requesting Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir or anything, the DJ's are pretty much fools and a bit too nu-metal for my liking. Still an excellent night if you find a quiet corner downstairs. Also has a video lounge downstairs and a pool lounge upstairs. Well worth a night out. Opens till 3 on a Saturday.

K2 on a friday is pretty good, playing mostly eighties stuff including the Cure and Sisters and other gothy stuff if you're lucky. I found the downstairs DJ's were a bit more accommodating than Xanthe suggests but then i did only request the most recent Cradle Of Filth single and it is more for the Metal-Hammerites than the Terrorizers. Jolly good fun though.

Ok, if you want a good goth night out, go to the krazyhouse on a saturday night. The music is really heavy & they play alot of black metal. The DJ's on a saturday are goth so they like to play decent music. The K1 is obviously the best, & the video room is good for chillin! Also on a saturday, it is full of goths. If you like indie/rock & all the 60's stuff go the K1 on a thursday, but stay away from the K2 coz the music is really lame & on a thursday the K2 is took over by scallys. Enjoy!!!!

only thing i would like to add is the place suffers from a lack of any air conditioning at all. this is kind of bad if you want to dance all night and keep your make up on, but good if you have a pvc outfit and want to lose weight fast. depends on your perspective i guess...

Dead right about the aircon (or lack thereof). I've been going there for (counts fingers)... a long, long time, & I'm finding the older I get the more I'm annoyed by the amounts of kids & scallies in there. Not a place to go if Kiddie Goth Mansonites annoy you (i.e. those age 17 and under)

Um, on a Saturday night the DJ's ARE NOT goths. They are nu-metal heads, who love bizkit and korn etc. They rarely play any black metal, I hardly hear Dimmu Borgir, Therion, CoF, Mortiis, Slayer, Venom, Bathory or any of the others.

Apparently the third floor is now (Beginning of March 2001), but what it plays I have no idea .... music presumably!

The rumour was that the third floor was going to be for goth and industrial - but I'll believe that when I see it. The Krazyhouse is hardly a 'good goth night out' but it's the best we have this side of the Mersey.

In agreemant with Xanthe. Extreme lack of heaviness in the K1, occasional Marilyn Manson song (is that a highlight?!), tends to play "Closer" AD NAUSEUM. Currently lots of Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Korn and other related tosh. Hopefully, the appreance of the K3 (an eventuality I know) will give the night some improvement.

Just throwing in an outsiders perspective--me and some friends on visit from Ireland went there in Jan'..thought the Dj's were a bit stubborn, but the crowd were friendly, generally had a fun (though blurry) night...NB. get your coat OUT of the cloakroom at least a half hour b4 the end..

On Friday they play loads of groovy 80's tunes upstairs, and it's usually quite empty, so you can dance like a goon AND get served at the bar fairly quickly.

The third floor is now open, early indications are that it's quite disappointing and offering nothing different to the other two floors. Time will tell.

Krazy house appears to be going through a severe identity crisis! 1st floor - Metal - lots of people in black - not enough room - too hot. 2nd floor - 80's Rock (Skid Row etc) - Punk - less hot but empty. 3rd floor - Dance - Limp Bizkit (grab my crounch & look like a twat type stuff) - Hip-Hop - scallies & coloured clothes. It just seems that they are desperately trying to fill the place, but not worked out that it's the metal/goth/industrial etc that will be most popular!

If you like Mallcore you'll love the Krazy House.I had high hopes when the third floor was opening they might play some real Goth and Metal. It was not to be i think the third floor is just the same as the first.

*nods in agreement at the lack of air conditioning an drastic need for it!* the third floor has ruined the Krazy house in my oppinion. Ive been going there over a year now an much preferred the cosier two floors only atmosphere!

Krazy House aka Sloanes to us oldies!! Lots of goths in there (mostly hanging round the bar, due to the lack of tunes!), but not much played. Many UV cybery types, including kids who have discovered the joys of uv makeup in the chill out rooms. Not bad for an occassional night out, fun to boogie to some older metal cheeziness upstairs, and if you just want a boogie. Just don't wear too much slap tho', take it from me it won't last the night!!

The Krazyhouse is getting less and less gothic by the day. Very soon it won't have a single goth in it. The music played on K1 (which is supposed to be the goth floor)is mostly nu metal. Not a hint of slayer, slipknot or matallica and only the occasional Marilyn Manson. At this rate the Kh will soon become a DANCE club.

the krazyhouse does not seem to be the slightest bit gothic now. I have been going there for many years now and since 1998 its gothic community has declined. there now only seems to be "fake" goths who know nothing of the real scene and seem to want nothing to do with us original crowd and even look at us as if to say "why are you here in a place like this ?"

As a pre-K3 veteran I have to admit the Krazyhouse was far better before it's arrival. As for everyone saying that don't play this and that when they should if you go to the website (www.thekrazyhouse.co.uk) it has what they play on the different floors on different night. I go most Fridays & Saturdays (i've been on the occasional Thursday too) and they seem to stick to the 'schedule' religously. I think the Krazyhouse is a great place personally there is no air-con problem if you go on Friday (not that many people go but enough for a good time) so its not that hot plus they play good music sell cheap drinks (2 for 1 on all bottles) and by and large there isn't that much scally scum (there was NONE 'til K3 arrived...) I think it's a bit OTT saying it will soon be a DANCE club... they do play a lot of PapaLinkinBizkit (not my favourie...) but its what the majority in there seem to be after at the mo... nu-metal is still metal.

I've been to the Krazy House once, and I'd definitely go again. I don't overly mind all the nu metal and stuff that gets played, because i found that the place had a good atmosphere and was generally a good place to be... especially with some of the novelty tunes that were put on during the night. (I was wasted. Of course it was fun ;)

Ok, so maybe The Krazyhouse isn't the most ideal place to spend your weekend, but it's the best club in Liverpool I've found so far. A decent amount of quality music, not to polluted by the kiddy tunes. As for it not being inhabited by many goths, well you don't see many of the brood anywhere these days, so don't blame the club. You do get a few scallies in there, but they're clearly outnumbered, and you can smell their fear (Or is that the toilets?). Most of the good music is played on the 1st floor, as the further up you go it filters out to Offspring and then that rap shite. So all in all a good night out, especially if your with your buddies. But the thing that makes The Krazyhouse king in my opinion are three numbers: 2 4 1 .

The thing that i loved about the K when i first went was the fact there was such a large number of different types of people in there, all of whom got on. It was that spirit that I loved. Although the goth population seems to have dropped in there, I still go because its a great place to go have a drink and hang out with friends. Come on guys, more people start going the K again! :)

O.K. on a Friday night as it has an 80's disco on the top floor, but be ready to put up with songs from the likes of Wham and Bros as sadly its not just new romantic stuff. As for Saturday night there - well that’s pretty hideous what ever way you look at it!!!

The Krazyhouse has been quite good at checking the little people for IDs these last few months. Also the music has got a lot better, especially on a saturday. Yeah they play the same pap they used to, but last time I went I heard at least 3 NIN songs. Admittedly this is kinda overplaying a band, but if you take a cd with some good stuff on it, they might play it. One friday a while back, the K1 played the following bands all in a row: Fear Factory, Rammstien, NIN, Gary Numan, Alec Empire.... SISTERS OF MERCY! Now if that's not a turnaround, I dont know what is. I used to hate going, and now I quite enjoy the experience.

The Krazyhouse on a Saturday is ok if you take go with your mates, but if your looking to be entertained by heavy musci then it isn't worth it. Good tunes are usually few and far between, so best to drink a lot and get totally blitzed before they play the conga.

The place in itself is really good, but the music really lacks something... Even without asking for something really "goth", in the "indie" playlist would be nice to listen to something of Jesus & Mary Chain, Jane's Addiction, Suede, Sonic Youth and the like...

In short: this place is a dive. Don't come here expecting to hear goth music. Apart from the obligatory 'Du Hast' and 'Closer' - which every rock club on the planet plays at least once a night anyway - expect to hear not a single goth or industrial track in the entire night. What you will hear is Korn and RATM, and lots of it. The difference between the rooms is small - by wandering from room to room it's possible, likely even, to hear the same RATM song up to three times in one night, and the DJs will frequently play the same artist in a very short space of time. The crowd is also decidedly un-goth; gnu-metallers and downright trendies abound, and a man dressed in PVCs and mesh can expect to get some distinctly funny looks. If plain dumb alt-metal is your thing, then go; otherwise, Krazy House is one to avoid.

The Krazyhouse still is a nu-metal place, and really doesn't have a place on a goth map, as visitors to Liverpool might go there by accident.

*sigh* I remember the olden days when the Krazy House was Sloane's and was a Rock Club. I went there once recently and was horrified to see throngs of studenty/trendy types doing that 'boing from one foot to the other and get in everyone's way' dance, to the tune of 'Nelly The Elephant'! (oh how I wish I was joking) Some of the songs played on the various floors were old rock stuff like 'Welcome To The Jungle', but for god's sake the place is painted in bright colours! It's like any other scal/dance club! I remember when the walls were painted black and it was a seedy dive inside...*sigh*

Without doubt one of Liverpool's premier spots for large gatherings of goths, punks and other denominations of 'alternative' inhabitants of earth. Plays decent music too!

Everybody does indeed end up there as it's like some big gaudy beacon in Wood Street that attracts (and I use the term loosely) you even if you absolutely detest the place. This is due to the fact that it's open 3 nights a week and is easy to get to, particularly if you're pissed out of your skull!

Know what u mean about always having the same songs played in the same order all the time, they might as well make a cd and just play that! The reason that they don't ever play anything else is because everytime they do the dancefloor clears as no-one knows the song! gotta say i love the place though, have enough tequila and u can have a great time anywhere!!

Ahh, the k - i must admit, now I'm off in rubbishy old Bucks, I do miss the place. Aye, they always play the same songs, but it's a chance to dress up in togs you'd never wear anywhere else (ie your underear) see everyone you know and drink faaaar too much. Though the last time I was there I was chucked out for threatening someone (riiiight).
