Description, by Lost Above All

Ex-bassist of the Norwegian black metal group Emperor, Mortiis developed his own style from within this band. Now a solo artist and heavily influenced by Nine Inch Nails his works are now ambient, electro and with a slight hint of goth rock throughout.

i know i know, his first few albums were absolute pants, and the fact that most of his face is prosthetic is kind of a put off, but, if you try to look beyond the rubber nose and listen to his album, the smell of rain, then i think you'll really enjoy it. Mortiis, former emporer bassist, has moved on from inaccessible black metal to a new area of well produced electro-goth. The smell of rain is actually one of my favorite albums, with stand-out tracks, parasite god and smell the witch. Please... ignore the fact that he looks like he should live under a bridge, eating billy goats for lunch and give the smell of rain a try, you'll be impressed!
