Description, by dishmop
Fortuitously formed in the mid-70s, SATB was a vehicle for icons galore, including Sid Vicious, Robert Smith & of course herself of the unmistakable voice/eyeliner. Siouxsie's image & early singles "Happy House" & "Spellbound" caused SATB to be counted amongst the goth scene founders, though their sound became somewhat lighter & more eclectic in later years. When the band broke up in 1995, Siouxsie & drummer/husband Budgie continued on as The Creatures (a venture they'd started in 1980). |

Ooooooooooh. Yum. Auntie like. Auntie like very much. I'd say my favourite album of theirs is "A Kiss in the Dreamhouse"--dark, sticky sweet, erotic and powerful. Absolute magic. "Slowdive" is a groove classic and I can't honestly think of a sexier love/lust song than "Melt!". "Obsession" is also a haunting trip inside, well, obsession:).
I wasn't very happy with the later albums, after Peepshow the whole thing just seemed... well, artificial would be the best word to describe it. Some touching moments, yes, but no return to the old wildness and mystery. I'm happy to say that returning to The Creatures was a good choice--Siouxsie has gotten back her old original rawness.
