Description, by evilgothicpixie

They started in 1994 and could be described as a gothic rock band with breezy female vocals, contrasting with male growley metal vocals. If you like Lacuna Coil then you should appreciate this.

Theatre of Tragedy is great band...but they have changed their music style at least 3 times... at the beginning they played doom/goth metal (albums: `Theatre of Tragedy`, `Der Tanz der Schatten`, `Velvet Darkness They Fear`) ... at second period they become softer,a bit lighter,sweeter... their music was able to throw you into kingdom of dreams (albums: `A Rose for the Dead`, `Aégis`) ... and the last, third, period... they totally changed not only their music, but image, bearing and much more... music become more industrial, progressive... so...to undestand Theatre of Tragedy you have to listen to all their albums... :)
