For those who like pompous gothic rock, this one is a must. The combination of angelic female vocals and dark male vocals works out very well on this album. "Aégis" is a very consistent album and, according to me, TOT's best work. My favourite songs are "Lorelei" and "Cassandra" but actually all of the songs are beautiful.

Deliciously loud and heavy. I'm so glad I bought this album. Wonderful blend of synthy stuff and proper instruments.

Released in 2000 this is one of my favourite Theatre of Tragedy albums. It contains some great tracks "Machine", "City of Light", and "Radio" are the highlights of the album. But the track which stands out for me is "Commute", musically fantastic, but why are they singing about travelling by trains and buses! Very strange.

i fell in love with this album the first time i heard it.i had only heard one of their other songs and that was off musique which is much more synthy and upbeat so this wan't exactly what i expected.layered twin vocals working perfectly in a tried and tested method that isn't original but adds so much to the music.the atmosphere and scale of the songs can be amazing and while everybody raves about the female vocals i think the deathly, long growls give the songs more venom to contrast with the melody.a lot of darkness and religious overtones here and there proving a truly intelligent and subtle piece of work.highly recommended
